Individual Therapy

I treat individuals with the following concerns:

  • Relationship Difficulties

I have training in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).  I also know the research findings regarding the most effective approaches for particular problems.  I use this research to tailor my treatment to each individual client’s concerns.

Couples Therapy

  • I help couples decrease their conflict, increase their intimacy, and find better ways of communicating and connecting with one another.
  • I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. Studies show EFT has the strongest and most long-lasting benefits.
  • I frequently work with couples in which one partner is struggling with depression, bipolar disorder, past trauma, addiction, or other difficult situations.  Couples therapy can be effective in these situations, not just to strengthen the couple relationship, but also to help each partner cope with their own individual issues.

Family Therapy

  • I work with parents and children (across the lifespan) to help them repair their relationships and find new closeness.
  • I have a particular specialty working with fathers and their children to increase father's engagement and fulfilment in parenting.
